New Name, Same Commitment to Excellence

A Bold New Chapter Begins

What’s in a name? More than you think!

Exciting changes are happening at our institution! As of Monday, February 3rd, we have officially transitioned from Centre for Arts and Technology to College for Arts and Technology. This name change reflects our ongoing commitment to education, innovation, and career preparation in the creative and technical fields.

While our name is evolving, our dedication to the success of our graduates, hands-on learning, and industry-focused education remains the same. Our mission has always been to equip students with the skills and experience needed to thrive in arts, design, and technology careers—and that hasn’t changed.

Why the Change?

For over 23 years, we have been a leader in creative and technical education in Kelowna and beyond. Our transition to College for Arts and Technology is more than just a rebrand—it’s a reflection of who we are today and where we are headed in the future.

Matt Redmond, Director of Education, explains:

“Our transition from Centre for Arts and Technology to College for Arts and Technology reflects our commitment to growth, innovation, and excellence in education. This new name aligns with our vision while more accurately representing who we are—a dynamic institution dedicated to empowering graduates in the creative and technical industries.”

By embracing this new identity, we are reinforcing our role as an industry-connected institution that prepares students for real-world careers in filmmaking, animation, audio engineering, graphic design, and more.

What This Means for Students and Alumni

If you are a current student, rest assured that this change will not impact your studies. All our programs, faculty, and support services remain the same, and you will continue to receive the high-quality, hands-on education and support that we are known for.

If you are an alumni, this name change reflects our continued growth and evolution. The skills and credentials you earned here remain as valuable as ever, and our strong industry partnerships and commitment to ongoing support and guidance will continue to benefit you throughout your career.

What’s Next?

Our website, social media platforms, and digital resources have already been updated to reflect the new name. Over the next few weeks, we will be updating physical signage, printed materials, and other assets to align with our refreshed brand.

While our name is new, our legacy remains strong. We are excited for what’s ahead and look forward to continuing to provide top-tier education that empowers students to succeed in creative and technology-driven industries.
