College for Arts and Technology (CAT) and the University of Yorkville have partnered to create two seamless ways for graduates of CAT’s eligible programs (listed below) to continue their education (either online or in-person) and graduate with a degree!
Bachelor of Interior Design Pathway (BID)
Bachelor of Creative Arts (BCA)
CAT students and alumni from the Diploma in Interior Design & Technology are eligible to apply for this pathway.
This pathway is a great option for graduates of our DIDT program who:
With the goal of a BID in mind, you’ll complete your DIDT program at CAT and gather all resources needed to apply to Yorkville’s degree program.
As a graduate from CAT’s DIDT program, you can transfer your 72 CAT course credits to Yorkville’s BID program. Yorkville offers the BID program online or in-person, and those interested in this pathway program can choose their preferred delivery style. Yorkville’s online BID program is also the only online program in Canada to be CIDA-accredited, meaning you get the option to enjoy all the convenience of online learning and still meet industry certification requirements!
After the full completion of this pathway, you’ll have an advanced diploma and a bachelor’s degree in hand, ready to take on your Interior Design career!
Note for International Students – after completion of the Advanced Diploma in Business Management, or the Bachelor of Business Administration, you may now apply for a post-graduate work permit.
Note for International Students – Studying on campus means you could be eligible for up to 3 years of a PGWP.

With the goal of a BCA in mind, you’ll complete your eligible program at CAT and gather all the resources needed to apply to Yorkville’s degree program.
As a graduate from an eligible CAT diploma program, you will enter the BCA program as either a Path 1 or Path 2 entrant. A maximum of 25 courses will be required to complete your full degree.* Yorkville offers the BCA program online or in-person, and those interested in this pathway program can choose their preferred delivery style. Yorkville’s BCA program is the first Creative Degree Completion Program in Canada.
* Creative Diplomas at CAT have been assessed by the Bachelor of Creative Arts Committee, based on instructional hours and course content, and designated as either Path 1 or Path 2.
Applicants from courses assessed to be path 1 (3D animation, Audio Engineering & Production, Professional Filmmaking) will need to complete 20 courses to gain their full Bachelor’s Degree.
Applicants from courses assessed to be path 2 (2D Animation & Digital Art, Acting for Film & Television, Graphic & Web Design), will need to complete 25 courses to gain their full Bachelor’s Degree.
After the full completion of this pathway, you’ll have a diploma and a bachelor’s degree in hand, with the skills necessary to be a successful leader or entrepreneur in the creative industries.
